children's show is going really well.
i'm having a hard time playing the lemur but i have it down a little. it's getting there.
not auditioning for the musical anymore because my song's not as good as i hoped and i'm a shit dancer.

our last rehearsals are monday and tuesday and then auditions are wed-fri so that gives me extra time to study for finals. which are next week. UGHH. damn you chemistry!

i've been super busy lately with end of the quarter projects, papers and finals. i have two high b's that i need to raise and my c in chemistry isn't going anymore. -.-

about three quarters of the way through w/ jane eyre. it's absolutely fantastic! and since pride and prejudice is apparently written in the same style though by a different author, i'm putting it on my reading list.

made mini apple pies yesterday with my friend, kelley for a french project. edited it with imovie and it's so funny because of all the "super!" and extra "mélangez!" we threw in to make it all peppy and exciting.

for christmas, all i want is the john green autographed book set from amazon. i love john green so much and the vlogbrothers are one of my favorite channels :D

p.s. maybelline masterdrama eyeliner is really amazing!

Jamie’s sisters had dragged him upstairs, insisting on a conversation centered all around Henry. The two giggly girls eagerly questioned Jamie on every little romantic aspect of his fiancé and Jamie couldn’t help but roll his eyes and answer their innocent inquires honestly.

Meanwhile, Henry was thrust into the kitchen and asked to help set the table for dinner. Mrs. Robert was bustling about between the kitchen and the dining room that sat just across the hall, carrying plates and silverware and muttering about in French. Every once in a while, she would hold out a dish or tray for Henry to take in and he would step forward with a smile and take it from her thin hands. Her smile would widen in joy and the sparkle in her eyes would increased. “Bless you,” she murmured each and every time and tucked a loose chestnut curl behind her ear.

For a while, it was pleasantly quiet and Henry was content to assist her in putting the food on the table. But soon enough, Mrs. Robert had put the finishing touches on her cooking and ended up helping Henry set the table.

“That’s so nice of you, Henry. Thank you very much.” She patted his arm in passing, giving him a warm smile that crinkled her sparkling hazel eyes in a way that was somehow becoming.

Henry just smiled, feeling awkward in the presence of all her praise.

“Jamie is so lucky to have found you, Henri.” She handed him a few water glasses, her bright eyes looking ever so genuine. And Henry just smiled, his cheeks slowly heating up with each compliment.

Her voice carried out to him even as he neared the dining table. “You are such a kind, sweet gentleman. God knows how much my Jamie needs that.”

Henry set the glasses down carefully, feeling a lump starting to form in his throat. He somehow felt that was unreasonable but knew better to excuse himself when she still needed his help. Lifting his eyes, he stared forward at his reflection in the great gold-framed mirror that stood on the opposite wall behind the table. His eyes were starting to glisten and his cheeks were redder than he expected. And if his shaky breaths were any indication, Henry wouldn’t be able to keep up his pleasant smiles for very much longer if she continued with her praise.

But with a determined sigh, Henry turned and vowed to hold himself together until she no longer required his hands. A firm nod and he headed back into the kitchen. He quickly scooped up the rest of the remaining glasses and started back towards the table.

Unfortunately, Mrs. Robert was oblivious to his current state and kept talking. “Oh, Henri, you have no idea how grateful I am to have you. I see the way my son looks at you, how much he loves and how much you love him. It warms my heart every time. You are so good to him and so--”

But Henry couldn’t stand it anymore. He left the glasses haphazardly on the center of the table and dashed out into the unlit front parlor--and ran straight into a solid body. He blinked repeatedly, unable to see who stood in his way through his thick tears. A soft, comforting hand reached up and wiped away the drops clouding Henry’s vision. He blinked again and Jamie’s body came into focus.

A corner of Jamie’s mouth lifted in understanding and his arms opened up to emit Henry into the comfort of his embrace. Jamie’s arms came around Henry’s shuddering form as Henry pressed his cheek against the familiar sanctuary offered by Jamie’s silk hair that willingly seemed to absorb his silent tears.

Jamie’s lips murmured something unintelligible but the soft flutter against the heated skin of his throat caused Henry to involuntarily step forward, his arms tightening around Jamie’s shoulders as he latched onto the much needed warmth offered.

The words on his neck became gentle caresses that brought about goosebumps scattering Henry’s flesh. His shuddered sobs lessened and he began to reciprocate those soft kisses amongst Jamie’s hair.

Henry began to notice the faint voice of his almost-mother-in-law trailing into the parlor. She didn’t seem to notice his absence just yet. Henry breathed out a deep sigh of relief and felt the fingers clenching his sweater from behind give a reassuring squeeze. He glanced down and saw Jamie’s wide oceanic eyes staring up at him. The fingers on his back released their hold on him and he felt Jamie reaching up and soon those cool fingers threaded through his hair, an icy fingertip brushing his earlobe. The hand slipped back and tightened just barely around the back of Henry’s neck before pulling him down.

He saw Jamie’s lips move closer to his as he bent down and soon they were kissing. And it was the most exquisite feeling in the world and it felt joyous and refreshing and their arms tightened around each other. It was like they had both forgot how glorious it was to kiss the other. Jamie pushed up, opening their mouths wider and at some point his arms had ended up around Henry’s neck. Henry took a step forward, meeting Jamie’s chest with his own and their breathing became in sync. Henry somehow managed to pull Jamie closer, his arms clasped around Jamie’s waist. And with each breath, one could feel the other’s heart beat thumping loud and clear as a proclamation of just how exciting this was again.

Another second or so and they pulled apart in unison. Henry chuckled at the disheveled state of Jamie’s hair and lips. Jamie rolled his eyes and just lifted up to press his lips once again to Henry’s, leaving his burning signature on Henry’s swollen lips.

They both exhaled in satisfaction and smiled at one another. Henry’s fingers once again found their way amongst Jamie’s golden locks and he stared down into those blue depths he would never tire of. And with a final burst of epiphany followed by those oh-so-familiar fluttering butterflies, he whispered, “I’m falling in love with you...again.” And Jamie just nodded because he knew that was what he was feeling too. And they both silently wondered if this is what it would feel like when they spent the rest of their lives together.

a little flashback to winter break;
-----
“Hey,” Henry took a step forward, sliding his free arm around Jamie’s waist and giving him a squeeze. He took care not to spill the red wine in his other hand as he leaned in to kiss Jamie’s temple.

Jamie’s hand came up to cover Henry’s and his other hand curled around Henry’s wrist. “Hey,” he murmured, leaning back into Henry’s warm chest that was snuggled in a flattering chestnut sweater that he had received as a gift earlier that evening. The wine colored collar popping out of the v-neck contrasted with the soft brown but matched the drink in Henry’s hand perfectly.

“Tired yet?” Henry’s lips tickled Jamie’s ear and the blond chuckled softly, shaking his head. “You seem a little...lonely.”

Jamie shrugged just barely and turned his head away, his eyes falling to the kitchen floor cast in muted orange and soft grey light from the Johnson’s Christmas party taking place just outside the doorway. Gentle music drifted in, helping to ease the restless blond out of his unsatisfied thoughts.

“Jame...” Henry murmured, his lips brushing across Jamie’s right earlobe, tickled by the blond curls that rested on the head above it.

Jamie jumped slightly and his head automatically turning towards Henry’s voice. “Uh, it’s nothing. Just homesick.” He attempted to shrug it off.

“Oh?” Henry pressed a kiss to his temple and tightened his arm around Jamie, pulling him back to rest against his chest. He leaned his head against Jamie’s, caressing his cheek with Jamie’s soft curls.

“I just...miss them is all.” He sighed in melancholy, letting his head fall back onto Henry’s shoulder. He turned his face towards Henry’s neck, whispering softly, “It’s been so long,”

Henry heart beat quickened as an idea began to blossom. A smile spread across his lips and he whispered, his lips tickling the wiggling blond locks that fell across Jamie’s ear, “You know...we still have a week till school starts. We could always go for a little trip...” he trailed off, his heart practically jumping with joy, anxiety and a little anticipation.

Jamie tensed, griping Henry’s arm furiously. “Seriously?” He breathed out.

“Absolutely,” Henry assured, grinning against the blond’s ear.

Jamie turned slightly, his smile matching Henry’s and leaned up to kiss him ever so gently. Just a soft caress of the lips before he pulled back. “I guess I better go book the flight then,”

Henry let his arm drop to his side and brought the nearly forgotten glass of wine to his lips. The delicious sip of his favorite wine might have been the source of the newfound warmth in his fingertips and the cause of his goosebumps; or it might have been due to the positively giddy smile he caught on Jamie’s lips as he practically pranced out to the hall.

----

Jamie’s excitement nearly matched Henry’s nerves as they travelled through Gate A3 towards their flight. Hand in hand, a wide grin spread across Jamie’s face and a small one that was just barely genuine graced Henry’s lips. A mediocre carry-on each hand plus Jamie’s mandatory Starbucks gingerbread latte and a whole bunch of anticipation matched with nervous anxiety.

They were about ten minutes late getting to the airport and with JFK’s usual crowds, they managed to just squeeze into their flight as it was getting ready to leave the gate. Discomfort followed them down the aisle of the plane and squished itself beside them in their business class seats that they scored last minute. Jamie silenced Henry’s complaining grunts with a heavily disappointed frown and that was that. They sat back in their seats and managed to say silent for all of ten minutes before Henry took hold of Jamie’s hand, gripping it tightly on the arm rest. They exchanged a glance with one raised eyebrow from a blond.

“Do they know? I mean...about us?” He gave Jamie’s hand a tight squeeze, his fingers sliding over the thin gold band on Jamie’s finger.

Jamie shook his head. “No, but don’t worry...” he continued to blabber off pointless reassurances that failed to reassure Henry in the slightest. In the end, Henry ended up nodding and sitting back in his seat and proceeded to think of all the reasons that they would have for not liking him. He had come up with 23 by the time the plane started to take off.

Jamie gently pried his fingers free and reached for a magazine from the seat back pocket. Henry watched him carelessly browse through the shiny pages covered in useless objects that one couldn’t possibly have a use for in everyday life and tried to slow his breathing. In. Out. He reminded himself and closed his eyes, trying to focus on relaxing. In. Out. In...out...in... He felt a comforting squeeze enclosing his fingers and after that, he dreamt of butterflies.

The next time after he napped, he was shaken awake by a urgent and incessant repetition of his name in his left ear. He pried his eyes opens to find Jamie urging him to stand and helping him off the plane. An amused flight attendant waved them goodbye and bid them a good rest of their trip. Next, he was greeted by a blast of sudden frozen air that raised goosebumps and made him cling desperately onto the warmth of Jamie’s fingers that were pulling him along through the terminal.

Slowly, he became aware that he was being dragged through London Heathrow and his arm was stuck at an awkward angle in a random hoodie that didn’t belong to him but was zipped up around his torso. Taking a whiff of the inside collar, he judged it to be Jamie’s based on the signature left by last winter’s Ralph Lauren cologne that Jamie had been obsessed with.

“Come /on/, Henry.” He felt a tug on his arm and looked up to see Jamie staring at him impatiently from two feet ahead. Their carry-ons were held in one hand along with a pillow tucked under one arm and Henry’s wrist was locked in Jamie’s other fingers.

Henry nodded and started hurrying along next to him, holding out his hand to take his bag and the pillow. He managed to slide them out from between Jamie’s hands and keep with the quick pace his boyfriend had set.

“Any reason why you’re making me run so fast?” He cut in as they rounded a corner and pushed through a crowd of teenagers dressed in identical neon green t-shirts. Henry slid his wrist up through Jamie’s fingers and slid his in between, letting himself be pulled through the maze.

“Because our flight leaves in fifteen minutes and it’s all the way over there.” Jamie attempted to motion with his head but Henry was still clueless as to where they were headed. At least he managed to keep up.

They reached their plane ten minutes early thanks to Jamie’s running techniques and Henry ended up with an armload of Jamie as they sat down to take a rest. Apparently, only one of them was able to sleep well on flights.

“Just another hour or so, baby.” Henry whispered, stroking a hand through Jamie’s messy locks. The head on his chest nodded but barely.

---

Henry managed to get Jamie to fall asleep in his arms for about half an hour during the flight thanks to the turbulence and incessant chatter of the passengers and flight attendants.

When Jamie awoke, they were just about to land and thankfully, he wasn’t a grumpy sleeper. In fact, it took him all of two minutes to regain his enthusiasm and excitement and this time, Henry was ready to join him.

“Maman will love you, I swear. And Pierre is bit of a jerk but if he starts teasing you then you know he likes you. Marie and Elizabeth...well,” He rolled his eyes as he launched into a tale of family anecdotes about each of his family members. Jamie claimed that as a child of a sweet but strict mother and a brother of two twin sisters and one older brother, Henry would fit right into their family.

Close fit and French, the Robert family sounded incredibly traditional and welcoming according to Jamie’s tales. His English father had picked the name James and after he left the family, Jamie’s mother changed the children’s last names to Robert to match her own. His older brother Pierre was tall and brunette and big on joking around. Jamie claimed his grin could make anyone forgive him. Marie and Elizabeth, his younger twin sisters, were named after British royalty, of course but they’re apparently anything but. Giggling seems to be a common factor in the two teenagers who are just two years younger than Jamie. He says they like to tease just as much as Pierre but they’re a bit more friendly and less intimidating. Henry’s just glad they’re not identical so he’ll be able to tell them apart. And Ms. Robert is warm and rounded and her house smells like cooking and warmth. Henry can’t help but picture them in a cabin not unlike Snow White’s.

-----

They hailed a taxi from Charles de Gaulle to the outskirts of Paris where Jamie’s family lived. Henry’s jitters seemed irrelevant next to Jamie’s chipper excitement and the broad grin that lit up his face. He turned away from the window to grin at Henry and gave his hand a squeeze. Henry smiled back in amusement, wrapping an arm around Jamie’s shoulders and pulling him in close. Jamie squirmed around until he got comfortable and settled down, humming in contentment against Henry’s chest.

They were silent for the ride having laid out all their worries and nerves on the plane followed by reassurances and a couple soft kisses. Jamie twiddled with Henry’s fingers as the gentle waves of classic French jazz whistled in from the car radio. Henry turned to gaze out the window, leaning his head against Jamie’s to get a comfortable angle. He watched through the condensation on his window as they passed various landmarks and seemingly familiar sights. The heavy rain pounded in thick sheets atop the December landscape and bounced off the taxi cab’s windows in dull, constant hum that harmonized with the music playing.

Ice and snow glistened and blew in the whistling wind that sang outside. The sun was just barely setting amongst the grey misty sky. The streets were hardly packed and those out seemed in slow motion as they danced opposite the wind.

Sooner than expected, the driver pulled up in front of a small home, sprinkled in snow. The only light came from a second story window through which a tall shadow of a person (or two?) could be seen poking out. Thick curtains covered the rest of the windows in a quiet warmth that Henry soon became envious of as they stepped outside the comfort of their cab.

Assisted by the driver, their few bags were escorted out of the car and set down in the snowy driveway. With a wave goodbye, the cabbie was gone in the midst of thick, barren trees with their branches dancing in the wind. As Henry turned back to the front door, a rush of chatter came stumbling out of the house and headed towards them in the form a small group of people.
Jamie dropped the bags in his hands and ran to meet, all the while, crying out in French. Henry stood off to the side, an awkward smile on his face as he watched Jamie embracing his mother and siblings. The bags in his hands started to feel heavy as he struggled to find a place where he’d fit into their group.

Not long after, Jamie’s eyes turned to his and smiled broadly. Henry’s fingertips tingled with the warmth and goosebumps arose once more as the butterflies in his stomach took flight. Jamie turned back to his mother but held out his hand towards Henry.

Henry stepped forward, taking Jamie’s hand in his own. Their fingers fit perfectly together and that reassuring squeeze was all he needed to find his place in their group.

He politely greeted the Robert siblings and their mother who gave him a wide smile not unlike her son’s and motioned back towards the house. Henry followed along as they headed inside, squeezing through the front parlor as they squished in through to the family room. Jamie’s mother took hold of Henry’s arm in one hand and his bags in the other and dragged him to sit on the center sofa. The siblings quickly gathered around them.

Jamie’s arms curled around him, pulling him back against a comforting chest. He felt a gentle brushing of lips on his temple and smiled, his hand automatically coming up to cover Jamie’s.

wine party - ova
So Henry and Jamie are hosting a wine and food party at their apartment tonight. And I know this is a late set but I figured I'd make it anyways...also I've been meaning to post this story which isn't related to this party at all but I'm too lazy to make another set.
---
“Wait, but what does this have to do with how he met their mother?” Henry asked for the twelfth time as he turned to glance at Jamie, expecting an answer. He really had no concept of comedy.

“It doesn’t, it’s just part of the story. The whole show it’s about how he met their mother, Henry.” Jamie answered once again with an exasperated sigh. He ignored Henry’s huff of annoyance and scooted closer, resting his head against Henry’s shoulder.

“I don’t get it.” Henry stated after another couple of minutes. Jamie sneaked a glance up at him and saw his eyebrows knitted together in frustration and a pout across his lips.

Jamie smiled. “That’s what you get for insisting on watching TV with me before we have to leave.”

Henry huffed again, looking even more like a spoiled child who didn’t get what he asked for.

Much to his relief, there was a knock at the door not two minutes later and Jamie jumped up to answer it, already knowing who it would be.

“Long time no see, Isabelle.” Jamie smiled warmly as he let Henry’s sister in. She smiled back at him, shaking her head softly to release her loose curls from where they’d tried to hide under her coat.

“Nice to see you, Jamie.” The brunette leaned over to kiss his cheek, leaving a sticky stamp of her lipstick upon his skin.

Jamie heard the creak of the sofa just a few seconds before he felt Henry’s gentle fingers brush his cheek, wiping away the remaining pink.

“Miss me, Henry?” Isabelle grinned, showing off her dazzling white smile. She reached a hand up to brush back her smooth locks with fingers painted a scarlet red.

“Maybe,” Henry rolled his eyes but stepped forward to give her a hug. She was the only person in his family Henry seemed to actually enjoy having around rather than being forced to tolerate.

“Ready to go, then?” she asked them once Henry pulled away. She slipped her arm through his, leaning her head against his arm as she waited for an answer.

Jamie’s eyes lifted to Henry’s and they both nodded. “I’ll get the coats,” Jamie said before slipping down the hall.

“Still going strong, I see.” Isabelle muttered with a grin as soon as Jamie was gone. She had been the first one to say the Jamie would be different.

Henry shrugged, pretending to be indifferent though he knew it was a big deal. Jamie was the only one who had stuck around for this long.

“I’m happy for you,” She smiled at him, her green sparkling.

“Thanks, Izzy.”

She made a face, she hated that nickname. Henry just grinned back. Jamie came back with Henry’s coat, his own already covering his shoulders.

As they headed out to the elevator, Henry shrugged into his thick jacket, anticipating the cold chill that was sure to greet them outside. Jamie locked the door behind them and hurried after to slip into the elevator after Henry.

Isabelle turned to check her reflection in the reflective metal lining the walls and Henry took the opportunity to step behind Jamie, wrapping his arms around the tense blond. Henry could feel the tension lining every muscle in Jamie’s body and the nervous fluttering of his hands at his sides as he fidgeted nervously in an attempt to not clench them into fists.

Henry took another step forward, his lips brushing Jamie’s cheek as he whispered, “Relax, it’s just my parents.”

Jamie made a noncommittal grunt with a slight shrug of his shoulders. “You know that’s not why,”

“I know,” He gave him a quick kiss on the cheek. Henry knew exactly why Jamie was so tense. He had been reluctant to come in the first place, not that Henry had been surprised. Jamie just had an intense dislike of the Upper East Side and generally all of Henry’s family friends that they had to mingle with at the Johnson-Ford evening soirees. Jamie called them snobby and uptight and generally very rude people.

“It’s Friday, you will let me get drunk.” Jamie turned to mutter, his eyebrows knitted together.

“No, you will not get /drunk/ as this is not a high school party but yes, you can have a few drinks.”

Jamie narrowed his eyes; Henry felt the tension in his arms and the clenching of his fists. “I’m glad I have your permission.” he said through gritted teeth.

Henry rolled his eyes but the elevator gates opened before he was able to say anything more and they all filed out silently, Isabelle leading the way.

Jamie grudgingly followed them over to Henry’s car, parked across the street and slammed the door as he got in the passenger’s seat. Henry ignored him, knowing that it would blow over in a few minutes as the nerves set in. Jamie always put on a show when he was nervous.

Isabelle started up a conversation with Henry about school and sports and they chatted casually as Jamie stared sullenly out the window, pretending to pout. Three minutes later, Isabelle fell silent as her phone rang and she sat back to talk to her latest boyfriend.

Jamie’s fingers lightly brushed Henry’s on the gear shift and Henry grabbed his hand quickly, never lifting his eyes off the road. They were nearing his parents’ neighborhood and he knew without even looking over, that Jamie was in panic mode, his eyes boring into Henry’s skull as he tried to telepathically beg Henry to turn the car around. Henry gave his fingers a reassuring squeeze as he turned on the familiar street.

“Mom told me to tell you that she loves you and wants you to come to her if anyone’s making you uncomfortable.” His sister leaned over, resting a hand on Jamie’s shoulder.

Jamie nodded silently.

“You know how much they love you, Jame. If anyone’s being an ass, you know you can go to them as you prefer for me not to punch people in the face too often.” Henry gave him a small smile.

Jamie nodded once more, keeping his eyes forward as they entered the underground garage of his parents’ apartment building.

Henry parked in the nearest spot and they all got out, quickly making their way to the elevator. Isabelle pretended to ignore the way that Jamie latched onto Henry’s side as soon as they were inside the little room. Henry bent down to kiss him gently for the few seconds it took to ride up to the penthouse apartment. He grabbed Jamie’s hand just as the heavy doors slid open to reveal his smiling parents and an intimidating group of their friends just down the hall.

“Jamie!” His mother cried, pulling him in for a big hug. Henry’s dad had an arm wrapped around Isabelle and pressed a kiss to her head before letting her go. She was always the best as socializing anyways.

“Still nervous, huh?” His father nodded towards Jamie who was still being smothered by Henry’s mother.

Henry shrugged. “Some things never change, I suppose.” He lifted a hand to run through his hair.

“Oh yeah?” He grinned, his eyes locked on Henry’s hand which held the plain gold ring Jamie had picked out for him as their mutual engagement rings.

“Uh...later?” He suggested, hoping he wouldn’t have to bring it up at all.

“Sure, later.” His father continued to grin.

Jamie was being led down the hall by his mother, much to his obvious displeasure and Henry and his dad followed quietly after.

------

Henry had given Jamie some space all night and finally found his opportunity to steal him away as the greying man who had managed to steal Jamie’s attention for the past twenty minutes bid him farewell and turned to leave. Henry set his drink down and silently made his way over.

“Miss me?” Henry whispered, his arms snaking around Jamie’s waist not two seconds after the the middle aged man had excused himself.

“Henry,” Jamie scolded in an undertone, but his hands came up to cover Henry’s. “We’re in polite company.”

Henry rolled his eyes and leaned forward to give him a quick kiss on the cheek before stepping away and instead taking Jamie’s hand. “I didn’t know my parents’ house was a no PDA zone.” He muttered.

“Oh, be quiet, you know I’m two glasses of wine away from pulling you into your old bedroom and keeping you there till the end of the party.”

Henry smirked in delight. “I look forward to it,” He whispered back.

----

As the last of the guests were ushered out into the hallway, Jamie lay curled up against Henry’s chest on the sofa, his eyes falling slowly closed.

The rhythmic click clack of his mother’s high heels came steadily closer as she came back into the room with his father, hand in hand. They smiled at the two of them curled up on the couch and took a seat across from Henry on the opposite couch.

“Did you guys have fun?” She asked him in a half-whisper.

Henry nodded. “It was great and eventually, he relaxed enough to enjoy himself.” His hand came up to stroke through Jamie’s hair.

“Glad to hear it,” His father said, flashing a smile.

“I hear you have some news,” Mom smiled broadly, her eyes sparkling with excited she was attempting to hold back.

“Yeah, I guess so.” Henry shrugged slightly but his smile gave him away. He held his hand out, showing them the ring Jamie had picked out for the both of them. It was plain gold, just a thin band in which one word was lightly inscribed. “Forever”

His mother brought a hand up to her heart, her eyes shining brightly as she held back her tears. “I’m so happy for you,” she murmured.

“Thanks, Mom.” He smiled.

“Izzy was right...Jamie is the only one for you.” His father smiled too, wrapping an arm around his wife’s shoulders.

“No one else I’d rather be with,” Henry whispered, his lips brushing Jamie’s hair.
